Profile Introduction
Collaborative law and Mediation allow parties an opportunity to reinvent their lives and relationships without tearing apart the family after divorce or separation. They have ability to start their lives over again with dignity and grace. I prefer to work with clients who are focused on their family and able to take the high road in dealing with their spouses or significant others for the benefit of the children and the family. When families appear to be falling apart, parties really need to reach out to each other -to find the best of each other, to remember those great characteristics that led you to be together initially, and to use those skills to help fashion a win-win solution for everyone.
Parties should be open to advice of the experts trained in handling their cases: Attorneys, Coaches, Finance Specialists and Child Specialists. Be willing to listen. You may not like the answers you receive but be prepared to understand the reasons why and what you can do to make changes for the benefit of all. Try to avoid comparing your case to your neighbor or family member. Your case is distinctive and your issues may not be the same. I tell my clients the truth about their case, their demeanor and what they have to do to achieve their goals. I guide them through the legal maze with competence, without stalling or gamesmanship.
Active listening allows us discern what clients say, and even what they do not say. We are able to break down complex and confusing legal concepts and translate them to clients in simple language -making complicated issues east to understand. Clients receive empathy without distractive sympathetic. We cut to the chase and give clients a strategy to get them where they want to go in the best, shortest and most efficient manner.
