Profile Introduction

My passion is to peacefully transition divorcing families in a respectful and compassionate manner. I have been assisting divorcing couples as a mediator since 1983, and those who wish to work in the collaborative process since 2002. I am an attorney, and a family law specialist, who is certified by the State Bar of California. My practice is primarily devoted to collaborative divorce, mediation, and other out-of-court alternatives. I prefer to think of myself as a problem solver rather than as an adversary. In 2006, I was selected by Los Angeles Magazine as one of the best family law attorneys in Orange County.

Starting in June, 2003, I assisted in the founding of Collaborative Divorce Solutions of Orange County (CDSOC), and was its first President. In addition to continued service on the Board of Directors of CDSOC, I am also a Director at Large, of the Family Law Section of the Orange County Bar Association; and a Director, and Co-Chair of Public Education for Collaborative Practice California, our collaborative, statewide organization. I additionally volunteer as a Judge Pro Tempore for the Orange County Superior Court, and am assigned to conduct family law settlement conferences, and to judge small claims court.

My vision is to change the way people divorce in Orange County to preserve the psychological well-being of the family, and most of all the children, who are particularly impacted by their parents' decision to divorce. We can't prevent divorce, but together, with the assistance of knowledgeable collaborative professionals, we can transform divorce into a more constructive, understanding, and less painful transition.
