Profile Introduction

As one of the founding members of Collaborative Divorce Solutions of Orange County, I am passionate about this process, which allows couples to maintain their dignity and respect while also protecting their children from the ravages of litigation, the disabling wounds from which they can carry well into adulthood I bring to the collaborative divorce approach 25 years of clinical experience working with couples, families, children and adolescents, as well as extensive training in collaborative divorce, mediation, domestic violence, chemical dependency and trauma and recovery. In addition, since 1987 I have served as a family reunification therapist, appointed by the Superior Court of Orange County.

As your Divorce Coach I will assist you to determine what is important in your divorce process, both to you and to your children. I will help you release the negative emotional energy inherent in divorce, while developing skills in open communication, self management (for example, anger, anxiety, stress), and creative problem solving. Together we will create goals which address each of your areas of concern. If you have children, I will assist you to define your vision of what you want for your children, and to develop a co-parenting mission statement and parenting plan, which restructures your new family apart in a manner which is healthy for your children.

As your Child Specialist I will assess how your children are adapting to the family changes, offer support and comfort to your children during this stressful time, provide a safe place for your children to ask questions, talk about what is happening in the family, and receive a neutral explanation of divorce. I will assist you to understand your childrens needs, worries and problems, which they may not be able to express, and to identify and appreciate your common interests and differences as parents, your behaviors which create problems for the children, and the challenges inherent in co-parenting post divorce.
